Frequently Asked Questions

When is G.R.A.D. Nite?

GRAD Nite 2011 begins with check in at Mira Costa High School Auditorium at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011. A hypnotist will perform while students check in and are sorted for buses. Students will return to MCHS between 4:30 and 5:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2011.

What is G.R.A.D. Nite?

It is an all-night safe and sober celebration for graduates of MCHS Class of ‘11. Attendees are bused to a private venue where they may participate in games, rides, dancing, and many other surprise activities. If a student becomes ineligible to walk at graduation, then they cannot attend
GRAD Nite. No refunds will be given for any reason.

How do I buy a ticket?

Go to the website: mchsgradnite.com. Either complete and turn in the forms online (paying by credit card) or print the forms (ticket order form, Consent and Release) and send them with your check payable to “MCHS GRAD Nite Booster Club” to PO Box 1079, Manhattan Beach, CA 90267.

How much does a ticket cost?

There are two types of tickets: Senior Packages and Tickets alone. The Senior Package is $250 and includes a special edition sweatshirt. The Ticket by itself is $150. There are no physical tickets issued; those who purchase Senior Packages or Tickets will have their names on the list at check-in.

What if we cannot afford the ticket?*

It is our goal to have all graduates participate in GRAD Nite 2011. Scholarships are available to students who are unable to meet the ticket price. Students seeking scholarships should contact their educational advisor or Paula Spence for further details. Scholarship recipients will be kept confidential.

Where is G.R.A.D. Nite 2011?

It’s a secret!!! We want all of our participants to be surprised! The location is always kept a secret to ensure the safety of the students and eliminate uninvited participants.

What should grads wear?

Casual clothes are recommended, and the MCHS dress code will be observed. Students should bring a sweatshirt or jacket and will have access to a supervised coat check for their belongings.

What if my graduate has another party to attend the same evening?

Students will not be allowed to arrive at or leave the venue except by grad nite buses. If a student is late and misses the bus, the grad will not be able to attend. No refunds will be given.

What if my student has food allergies or special medical needs?

Students will enjoy many “favorites” including vegetarian selections. We cannot guarantee the foods are prepared in a peanut free environment and so we cannot accommodate any special food requirements or allergies. However, if special medicine or other special needs must be addressed, please so indicate on the Consent and Release Form. We want to try to accommodate these needs so that all grads can attend.

Can grads bring cameras?

Students are encouraged to bring a disposable or digital camera. Please label the camera with the student’s name. Grads will not be able to bring in any cell phones with camera features.

I have a question, who do I contact?
